Ways in Maintaining Harmonious Relationship with Your Friends

“Friends are the family we choose for ourselves” as what they say. A good friendship is indeed something to savor and protect. A good friends are those who became a family to you. We may choose to have them but how are we going to protect that friendship and make it last harmoniously. Here are some tips on how to maintain harmonious and healthy relationship with your friends.
1.       Make Time and Show Appreciation- generosity is the key to happiness. Always thank your friends when he or she does something for you such as their support, advices, and their shoulders that they’ve offered you when you are in a rough time. Remember also to return favors when your friend goes out of his or her way to help you. Spend your spare time doing something new, plan some activities that both of you could enjoy.
2.       Support each other when things get rough- in life we can’t predict when hard times or rainy days will occur. Sometimes it just happens the day after our happiness. Sometimes our friend carries their own personal problem alone, so as a friend to them, we should be able to at least comfort them. We should tell them that we are willing to listen and tell them that we are always by their side no matter what.
3.       Build trust- this is just so simple but hard to do. When we are in a friendship, we should show to our peers that we are trustworthy enough and we have trust on them.
4.       Maintain contact- if someone is away, always keep I touch. Call them regularly and visit them when you can.
5.       Handle arguments maturity- when you and your friend have a conflict, don’t lash out and yell at them, talk with them about your problems calmly instead and listen to both sides.

Holding yourself with these five ways will help you develop with yourself and expand your potential to grow meaningful friendships through out life.
